TO EFC. FROM AJS. Copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL 2 AJS3/M24.12.26. EAC. 7. STARTER MOTOR. X7625 In regard to starter motor for EAC. 7. on LeC. 2330., BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has suggested that we use similar section brushes to the narrow ones proposed for the Phantom dynamo. This lengthens the motor slightly but may be economical from other points of view, and we should be glad if you would give us your views as to the advantages to be expected (if any), that will weigh in its favour, so that we can place the proposal before R.{Sir Henry Royce} in all its aspects, as he has been desirous of keeping the dimensions of these units, and especially the commutator on this machine, down to the absolute minimum length.
