Dear Sirs, For the attention of W.A.Robotham Esq. In connection with the special Aerolite Piston with the pocket in the crown, which we are making to your drawing No. R.S.201, the angle of the centre line of the cutter to machine the pocket is shown on the drawing to be at 41° to the horizontal, whereas it is actually drawn at 49°. This discrepancy is not of any moment so far as the casting is concerned, and our query therefore, does not indicate any delay. For the purpose of machining this pocket, however, we wish to set out different dimensions to suit the way we propose to tackle the job, and it was in considering this that the above discrepancy was discovered. Whilst it is clear that we should work to dimensions, we venture to ask you to be good enough to verify that it is your intention that the pocket should be machined at the angle dimensioned and not at the angle drawn. | ||
