Particulars of modifications to the EAC Starter Motor C, detailing changes to the armature and field circuit.

X.8620. EAC. STARTER MOTOR C.

Particulars of this motor, which was received from the shop 23.5.25, are as follows :-

Armature.
The commutator is modified to D.70879 (modified mechanically only).
Resistance of the winding is .00820 w at 19°C.

Field Circuit.
The main field coils are wound with wire of modified section to D.70948. The C.S. area and number of turns remain the same.
Resistance of winding is .01055 w at 19°C.
The teazer winding is of 33 turns per coil of 17 SWG. wire, and is placed near the carcase.
Resistance of winding is .287 w at 19°C.
Angle of thread on shaft is 45° helix.
The brushes have now bevelled tops.
The new feature of the cushion spring on the pinion shaft has also been included on this machine.
