RE: BENTLEY CHASSIS B-171-AE. CAPT. ERIC BURT.

D/BP/HP.10/OG.19.1.34.

In view of the fact that an open type body is to be fitted, we will fit a higher geared axle, and we will arrange to do so in similar cases in future.

We would remind the Works that a quantity of the 11/43 ratio bevels should be available for these cases. Will they please let us know if they require any more ordering.

The modified instruments will only be ¼" smaller in diameter than our present standard, therefore we should not imagine that they would meet this customer's requirements. In any case the modified instruments are only in the experimental stages at the present time and they will require a new patch. They are being considered from the point of view of saving a little weight and not to appreciably reduce them in size.
