To DY.{F R Danby} from HDY.{William Hardy} C. Mr. Hives. Mr. Evernden. [Text is struck through] X7310 [Handwritten] HDY.{William Hardy}1/MP.19.7.34. GRY{Shadwell Grylls} [Handwritten Signature] P.2. S.M. 2nd Gearbox. Herewith is N. Sch.4141 which shows wider cones for the 2nd speed of this box. A 45° cam angle should be tried with these cones. We also send N. Sch.4140 which shows the application of ball bearings to the bottom slider. We think that these pieces will improve the operation of the 2nd speed and that they should be fitted at the first opportunity whatever is the result of the next test on the box.
