Re Side Lamp Bulbs.

With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WST3/AD21.4.32., I quite agree with you that it would be impracticable to fit a small resistance unit in series with the side lamps. The only standard lamps made by the lamp manufacturers are either 12 or 16 volts and, as you are aware, the 16 volt lamps are not stocked in many Garages.

I understand that the lamp Makers are now only grading their lamps with the actual voltage and they have discontinued the practice of calling them 12-14 volts as they consider this misleading, owing to the fact that the lamp will only normally stand 12 volts.

Would it not be possible to arrange the half charge so that it comes in with the headlamps and not the side lamps? This would no doubt considerably reduce the possibility of the battery being fully charged. The only question is would the battery get sufficient charging for the car being used more or less exclusively in town.
