To HDY.{William Hardy} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} Ram +435 E.1/HP.7.5.35. Clutch Operation. We tried a Packard 12 last week and this car had a servo assisted clutch operation which worked very nicely. C's car is fitted up in this way with a scheme produced by the Experimental and he is very pleased with it, especially for driving in London traffic. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} undertook to obtain particulars of the Packard scheme, but in the meantime we should be considering a permanent application of this principle for SpectreCodename for Phantom III and Wraith. The Wraith might also be applicable to the 20/25. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} GRY{Shadwell Grylls}- What about duplicating the scheme on C's car with a clutch having a good mechanical efficiency.
