For the attention of Mr. Martin-Hurst.

Dear Sir,

With reference to your letter of the 18th inst, which is a little difficult to understand, as it would appear that you require our drawing to give the same bellows measurement for free length and choc length.

We do not expect you to be able to produce a bellows to a definite free length, as well as a definite solid length. For this reason we included generous drawing limits which total to .075".

We suggest that you state the most convenient solid length measurement as near as possible to our drawing which you would like us to adopt. We should expect the free length to be at least .100" greater and have no objection to as much as .150" greater. We should then have our drawing altered to suit your requirement if it causes no inconvenience in our design.

We hope this will overcome your difficulties.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
