LETTER 1 (fainter text, superimposed):
Dear Bishop,
Many thanks for your letter of yesterday's date. It was nice hearing from you again, especially as...
...should be much obliged if you would allocate the number FKN.1. to me and on hearing from you that this is so I will have the number plates made. Believe me,
Yours sincerely,

LETTER 2 (bolder text):
Dear Sir,
I am sorry for the mistake about the tax. Obviously, it is £38. 5. 0d. I knew this was so, and I am sorry I passed the clerical error. Would you like me to send you a cheque, dated about Christmastime, now, or would you rather I waited until nearer the time? Is there any Registration Fee payable now ? If so, please let me know the amount, and I will at once send you a cheque.
Rt. Rev. Bishop Harmer,
Kew Gardens.
Again thanking you for your courtesy.

Yours sincerely,
[Handwritten Signature]
