H.R. 199 (23DT) (SD676 19-7-17) MP18085 -18- Contd. BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT BREAKER & DISTRIBUTOR. It is desirable occasionally to touch up the platinum points of the low tension make and break with a very fine file, but take great care not to remove platinum unnecessarily. In setting the points, the maximum gap opening should be .020". When replacing the condenser box it is essential to ensure a sound electrical connection between the bow spring on the condenser in the box and the fixed insulated piece on the contact breaker. In reclamping the box in position, the minimum distance through which spring pressure should have to be overcome is 1/16". On the high tension distributor adjustable stationary sparking points are provided. Do not push these up tight into contact with the rotor periphery but allow .004" clearance. Contd. | ||
