Dear Pilkington,

Thank you for your letter.

The aluminium cylinder block is not to hand yet but we are awaiting it's arrival with interest.

Regarding bore wear, we are somewhat puzzled by your reference to wear on chromium bore of .002 - .003.

The chromium we put on is only a few tenths of 1 thou. thick and consequently when this amount of wear has taken place we should anticipate that a bore would behave as if it had not been plated, which would mean 1 thou. wear in about 4,000 miles.

I am particularly interested in this chromium plating and would therefore appreciate further information on the subject.

Should you have an engine which shows this 3 thou. wear I would send one of my assistants up to have a look at it.

Yours sincerely,
