Ignition coil cases moulded with
Bakelite Co's. X616B powder.
Further to WE12 of 2nd inst we have carried out a similar test with another coil case on chassis 22EX.
In this instance it was impossible to produce a misfire although the coil was heated up thoroughly with the radiator temp at 100°C.
We therefore recommend that this material can confidently be adopted as standard with our present standard ignition coil.
In our opinion the all important thing is to maintain the air gap between the coil and the case. Perhaps it might be considered wise to defer the issue of a standardization sheet until after the 10000 mile test on 23EX.
