Derby.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the clock-work mechanism which we require to drive a small drum and a specification of which we have already given you - what we really want to know is -

(a) Whether you will be able to make this for us -

(b) If so, what do you consider it will cost at an approximate figure.

Should you require any further information, we have almost completed working drawings of the drum which we could let you have.

All we really want to know as regards price is - what you consider is likely to be the outside cost of the clock-work in question?

Yours faithfully,
