To C. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} 361 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/AP.17.12.37. Mr.Harris - 3.AX.193. With regard to your memo C.13/C.16.12.37, we still have in the Experimental Dept. one pair of American made 9/35 axle gears which we offered to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} last September for Thistlewaite's car. This one pair of gears is still available and is 8% higher than standard. To get another similar pair of gears would mean ordering them from America and they would not arrive for about three months. The alternative of fitting an over-drive gearbox could not be done until about July, 1938, when the overdrive box would become standard at about 101 in 'D'.
