Robotham. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of May 2nd. We note that the maximum number of constructions which it will be possible to test during the forthcoming Continental trials of your Autobahn car will be three and that a minimum of 12 covers in each type will be required. In view of your remark regarding concussion bursts, we have decided to limit our first tests to three different non-skid depths, with of course proportionate tread thicknesses and we will proceed to manufacture about 18 tyres of each of these three types. We note that your Continental tests will be preceded by tests at Brooklands and we would be glad to have some approximate indication of the date at which the Brooklands tests will start.
