LID{A. J. Lidsey} See me HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/19.11.32. TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} COPY TO SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WCR. RE COACHWORK DEPT. IN DERBY. The writer has discussed this matter with SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} who agrees in general with the proposals set out in our previous memo. We are looking out for a man who can turn his hand to any branch of the trade, but we do not hold out any great hopes of finding him if he exists at all. We have seen J.L.E. who, getting about among the coachbuilders a great deal, is very hopeful of finding us several people to choose from. We think we shall most likely have to accept a panel beater and teach him the other part of the trade, for panel beating is a trade on cannot pick up, the other branches are not so difficult. As stated in another memo of this date we shall need one spraying cubicle with the regulation fan and enclosed electric lamps, and also a portable buffing wheel. With this skeleton staff we would be able to do a lot of useful work and should save money, if not able to shew a profit. We will let you know how our search goes on.
