With reference to the attached, re Aluminium Alloy, this matter was receiving our attention before we received your memo. Mr. Royce expressed the wish some time ago that we should increase the proportion of zinc. We are also aware that there are several articles dealing with this matter in the technical papers.

We cannot, however, regard the matter in our case as very serious, in view of the fact that the first 2-cylinder car was fitted with an aluminium gear box, crank-chamber and back axle box, which have been in use for the past 7 or 8 years, and are apparently in good condition to-day.
