X8692 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. EFC1/T15.9.27. BATTERY IGNITION CONTACT POINTS. Referring to R1/M13.9.27, there are therein three experiments asked for corresponding to the three paragraphs which we call - (1) Simpler scrubbing scheme. (2) Improved alternative spring. and (3) Thinner scrubbing arm. In regard to (1) and (2), these depend upon designs which we understand are to come from W.W. With regard to (3), would you please have a drawing made of such a thinner arm. We suggest that the arm should be reduced by about 1/16" thickness all round the quadrant, and that the reduction should taper from 1/16" to zero on the straight portion of the arm, so that where the stress is already a maximum at present, it will not be increased. The previous piece No. of the arm in Question is D.71373. EFC. | ||
