X4516. Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}18/MA. 2nd., November 1932. John Marston Ltd., Paul Street Works, Wolverhampton. For the attention of Mr. Dalrymple. Dear Sirs, With reference to the 2 Marston Mark III radiator blocks which you are preparing for us (24.00" x 19.70" x 84 mm.) we find now that recent alterations in design compel us to use a tunnel for the starting handle. We should be glad if you will fit a tunnel in accordance with the enclosed print in each of the blocks. We are sending to you under separate cover one tunnel, and in the course of the next few days we will forward the second one. The same procedure will have to be carried out on the two Harrison blocks (58 mm. thick) which you have on order for us to the same frontal dimension; we trust you will be able to fit these in. The tunnels for these radiators will follow as soon as they are made. We are also sending you a set of parts, top tank, bottom tank, side plates etc., which we would like you to build up into a complete Marston Mark III matrix radiator. This is for our Phantom II car, and you already have a general arrangement drawing of the radiator. Will you please treat the starting handle tunnel in this radiator in the same manner as in the two other Phantom II radiators which you are preparing. Our official order for this will follow. | ||
