slightly wider than our present standard but as soon as possible Dunlop's propose to change over to these new wheels and therefore do to right-hand and left-hand cars will have the same wheels. We have a set of these wheels on order and we expect to get delivery in five or six weeks. Special tools will have to be made to produce them. The present standard tyres will fit on to these wheels and the alteration is so small that we do not anticipate any difficulty with them. U.S.A. state that they still would like 19" wheel on any future order beyond the 200. This is a question which I propose to look into when I am out there. 25-EX. will go to America with our present standard 20" wheels and rims. (g) Bumpers The tests on the bumpers have been carried out and the bumpers them- selves failed before any damage was done to the chassis. The bumpers were those supplied by Springfield. 25-EX. will be fitted with these bumpers when is goes away. (h) Headlamp Brackets These are fitted up complete and 25-EX. will be fitted with American type lamps. (j) Unstainable Finish. 25-EX. car is arranged with our standard arrangement of unstainable finish. Staybright radiator and shutters. Other external parts Chromium plated, interior parts Nickel plated. (k) Radiator Shutters 25-EX. will have thermostatic control and also the latest modifications suggested by W.R. The temperature at which the thermostat closes the shutters is still open and will be discussed with R.{Sir Henry Royce} when the car is at W. -2- Contd. | ||
