GOSHAWK
STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts.
SIDE STEERING TUBE - increased movement in the spring control joint in the side steering tube.
Origin.
To overcome shocks in the steering wheel due to movement on the front springs.
Experimental Test Report.
This modification consists of an alteration to the joints in the pendulum lever. The springs have been arranged to allow for more flexibility. The above arrangement is still the same as that run for 100000 miles on the Goshawk.
Road Test Report.
Run 2,000 miles in England and 2,500 miles in France which shows a definite improvement to the original arrangement of steering. It should not be assumed that this makes the Goshawk steering perfect but it provides the best compromise we know of at present.
