R.R. 300 (12 b) (SA. 110. 29.12.11) E.P. 7798. R.No. 34465 ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Mer. Order No. Customer's No. Date: 7-5-1915 Re: Experimental Chassis I suggest that all cars to be handed to the experimental depot, should have the letter "X" added to their number, thus, 2300X & 399BX. This will, in the future, call the attention of anyone responsible for supplying spare parts, to the fact that they are dealing with an exceptional chassis requiring special care, as it is probably of no particular type or series, experimental cars usually being a mixture of a number of different series & special parts, of which it is extremely difficult to keep records. This X would mean nothing to a future owner, any more than E did on many cars. We are having the letter X added to 2300, which in future will be called 2300X. Please advise OO. & other departments concerned, & have X added to 399B, & any other experimental cars. Signed: H.R.B. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
