| To E.H. Copy to Dr. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/PD. 30H E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MN.30.12.36. Enclosed Limousine Long Wheelbase Phantom III. We have asked Messrs.Park Ward & Co. to supply us with a list of special coachwork features both in the matter of construction and fittings as applied to the above body, and we suggest that this list should be kept in the locker of the car. The near side doors have standard Silent Travel locks and work perfectly. The offside doors have these locks plus the Vauxhall or Bassick type of door dovetails and shut badly. Mr.Ward says that it may be demonstrated that it is due to the quarrelling between the Bassick type dovetail and the Silent Travel lock, by removing the male portion of the former. We suggest that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} may wish to verify this prior to the next coachwork conference in Derby so that by then we may give Sales a definite recommendation that this type of dovetail is only suitable for use with a slam lock.
