Valves and valve springs. Contd. (6)

101st Meeting
Dec.19th.11. Experimental valve springs.

Mr Wormald informed the Committee that he had a set of 12 valve springs and washers ready for Mr Platford that day, and that further sets would follow rapidly.

Mr Barrington promised to urge Mr Swetnam with regard to the testing rig suggested.

102nd Meeting
Dec.21st.11. Re Broken Valve Springs.

Mr Platford informed the Committee that he had tested the new type of valve spring with regard to load and compression, and found that the maximum load when valve was open, was greater than with the present springs.

The Committee agreed that this was not desired, and that Mr Swetnam should go into the matter with Mr Platford and submit full particulars of the variations (if any) from our specification.

Mr Wormald informed the Committee that the testing rig for the valve springs was well in hand.

Valve spring covers for Mr Monteath's car.

Mr Swetnam submitted a number of designs suggested by the Committee.

The Committee discussed these designs, and
