ORIGINAL

PETROL FILLERS- PETROL GAUGE.

I think N. scheme 2100. might be better, thus -

(1) Spring disc fitting unnecessarily complicated,

Top plain.

[Sketch of a spring disc fitting]
Drill hole, making it into light hollow rivet.

(2) Do not split disc but make it thinner if desired more flexible. The split as shewn is difficult, and forms local weakness.

(3) Threaded ring unnecessarily heavy, and difficult to get together. (See sketch.)

[Sketch of a petrol filler and gauge assembly]
Distance between much less.
Outer tube reduced.
Your 4 or 6 holes used for rivets, or better rivet on threaded ring before putting in inner tube.
Or same joint for both.

By bending pipe upwards the double tube can be shorter. By making connection as sketch air restriction can be avoided, and the two tubes can be close together.
