-11- K.L.G. PLB.30.X. Sparking Plugs Three plugs failed due to cracked insulators. High pressure Petrol Pump on engine foot. S.U.Single Unit. This pump was particularly noisy in operation and discarded in favour of other systems tested. High Pressure Petrol Pumps in Frame. S.U.Double Pump as fitted to Ph.III. These proved satisfactory and the best system tried. A.C.Mechanical pump attached to Engine. This pump failed due to vapour on acceleration after halt at high temperature, bringing car to standstill, and would not prime itself again in a reasonable period. S.U. Petrol Pumps on Dash. Standard Production on 25/30. These primed when A.C. pump would not, but owing to vapour limited maximum speed on gradient to 20 M.P.H. in second gear. Apart from known faults with the wiring scheme, no other trouble was experienced with the electrical equipment. Bodywork Park,Ward enclosed drive Limousine. No fundamental structural weakness or noise trouble was apparent and the body was generally satisfactory, and remained free from cracks. A rather bad wind noise occurred at the rear edge of the back doors, which could be overcome by sealing the gaps between the doors and the pillars. The offside door had a wider gap than the nearside and made more noise. The method of securing the rear seat cushion was most unsatisfactory in every way, and the cushion usually found its way onto the floor continued | ||
