6 438,068 as desired. 8. In a change-speed gear control, as in Claims 5 6 and 7, in which a cam member is employed to make a pawl or its equivalent operative or inoperative, controlling the said cam member by means of the lever normally employed to control the pre-selector member. 9. A change-speed gear control comprising in combination a control member adapted in one direction of its movement to put all gears in neutral and in its return movement in the other direction to operate a gear engaging member or members through pre-selected means, a rotatable pre-selector member permitting said pre-selected means to become operative and keeping other such means inoperative, an actuating member linked or coupled to the said control member and adapted in one direction to turn the pre-selector member to select the next gear in the sequence the said gear being engaged by the return movement of the actuating member in its other direction and controllable means for making the drive from the actuating member to the pre-selector member operative or inoperative as may be desired. 10. The improved change-speed gear control, as claimed in the preceding claims, in combination with change-speed gears of the constant mesh type or sliding gear type or with change-speed gears of the epicyclic type.
