| X260. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}9/M16.11.32. C. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BENSPORT RADIATOR. We have looked into the question of the brake levers striking the tank as indicated on N. sch. 3588, and find that this drawing is very much out of scale in the dimension between the top of the axle and the level top of the frame, so much so that when these parts are put in their proper relation the brake levers do not foul the bottom tank of the radiator. As however they are still rather close, and we understand that you think the clearance we have allowed between the starter handle jaw and the bottom of the tank is insufficient, we have thought it best to shorten the brake lever .125" (from 2" to 1.875") and to reduce the depth of the radiator bottom tank to .7" (25HP. is .750".) It will be seen that we have slightly moved the position of the outside bolt connecting the tray to the bottom tank. N.sch. 3601 herewith. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
