To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [Handwritten: 43436] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}10/LG 12. 5. 24. 40/50 HP. RE. MAIN SILENCER UNIONS. [Handwritten: 4442 / 43436] We recommend that we adopt the bolted flange instead of the large screw nuts on future designs. There is always considerable difficulty in removing the nuts when the car has been running for some time. There is also the fact that a special spanner must be supplied. The flanges we are using on 20 HP. have given no trouble. Attached herewith is complaint we have received from Cricklewood. With the flange joint it is also obvious when there is a leak but with the large union type of joint, this is not so. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
