As a chassis on test the dynamometer power was quite up to the standard, also when testing on the road fitted with this body 90 m.p.h.was recorded on the speedometer under favourable conditions. With two up on Brooklands Track, lap speed recorded was 85.7 m.p.h; this was with the exhaust cut-out open, and with the exhaust cut-out closed lap speed was 84.9 m.p.h. During this test it was noticed that the maximum speed shown by the speedometer was 95-96 m.p.h. and the minimum speed 85 m.p.h. Over the most favourable flying half mile 90 m.p.h. was recorded by clocking, and the speedometer registered 94-95 m.p.h. Tests round the track were made with four up, and no trouble was experienced as regards chassis or body clearances. Acceleration on top gear was as follows (2 up):- 10 to 30 m.p.h. with cut-out open . . . . . 7.9 secs. 10 to 40 " " " " . . . . . 12 " 10 to 60 " " " " . . . . . 21 " 20 to 40 " " " " . . . . . 8 " 20 to 60 " " " " . . . . . 17.7 " 10 to 30 " " " closed . . . . . 8 " 10 to 40 " " " " . . . . . 11.9 " 10 to 60 " " " " . . . . . 22.1 " 20 to 40 " " " " . . . . . 8.5 " 20 to 60 " " " " . . . . . 18 " EP{G.
