Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}1/R.21.9.38. UNIVERSAL SERVO - HYDRAULIC BRAKES. As Wraith 80 is going to have hydraulic front brakes, it is quite obvious that ultimately all cars will have the same hydraulic front brakes, and a new economical linkage will be required. We want to halve the torque on the servo shaft so that we can use an aluminium worm wheel, which saves at least 2/-. We can do this by using a tappet and cam servo, which is in itself a simplification, as well as giving perfect geometry. This type of operation is suitable for the master cylinder actuation. Will you please design a linkage of this type that we can test on a rig before any official schemes have to be issued. There is no immediate urgency, will you tackle the job when not busy on other things. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} | ||
