X 3398. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}2/NWJ14.8.20. E.F.C. from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} S/S MS. (crossed out) X.3398 - Peto & Radford Batteries. X.664 (crossed out) Order CR.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}456. Please refer to mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/NWJ23.6.20. We are this morning in receipt of a letter, dated 13th inst. from Messrs.Peto & Radford, as follows:- "We sent you some days ago a battery to your "recent order, constructed of the thin plate, high "discharge type of elements and we think that by "now this battery should be in your hands. "We shall be very interested to hear what you "think of its performance, but we think you will "find you get better discharge results than from "the thick plate battery we sent you before. "We would, however, point out again that we "believe you will find that the thick plate type "will outlast the thin plate and better withstand "the high charging rates that batteries get on cars. "From the experience of our Repair Dept. we "find that we have more batteries back for repair "due to overcharge than from any other cause and "this is why we are rather inclined to advocate "the thick type of plate. "However, when you have made your tests on "this latest battery, we shall be very much "obliged if you will give us your observations "on same."
