For the attention of Mr.Larking

Dear Sirs,

When the writer was at your Works recently, Mr.Larking was good enough to give him some information concerning thermostats in particular and cooling systems in general, and in the course of conversation mentioned that you had now standardised on a water pump incorporating a carbon sealing ring gland, rather similar to the Morgan-Stuart gland. In view of the fact that we are testing out a pump using a similar design of gland, it would be of definite interest to us if you could let us have an arrangement drawing of the gland which you are using; we presume you would have no objection to this since the unit is now in production.

There is one further point on which we would be very grateful for information - we have been given to understand that you are at present using in the cooling system of every standard car which you turn out, a corrosion inhibitor, now known as 'No-Co-Ro{C. C. Rose - Export Manager}', manufactured by Messrs Newton Chambers & Co., Sheffield. We are in the process of trying this inhibitor and would like to know what your experience of it has been - whether it is effective and whether it effects water hose connections appreciably.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
