I am very sorry for the inconvenience I caused you by not getting your car to London on Saturday. We had the car ready to come at 2-30 on Saturday afternoon but found the trouble I mentioned to you on the 'phone. However, I hope that it will run a little better for our attentions.

We have fitted a new servo lining because we want to see how this behaves in service, not because we thought your brakes required alteration. We should be glad if you will report on it in due course. We should also like to know if there are any signs of the crankshaft period recurring.

The clutch should now be satisfactory. It would be a great service to us if you would keep an accurate record of your tappet clearances.

We have a head with inserted valve seats which we shall have to put on your car next time it comes to Derby.
