RE NOMOGRAMS.

We have recently had occasion to use the two nomo-
grams you sent us, for finding the horse power of an engine
given the bore and stroke, and assuming mean effective pres-
sure and revolutions.

They were exceedingly handy, the results being very
quickly obtained, but Mr. Royce was of the opinion that the
blue prints were not sufficiently accurate for our purpose,
and he would like you to send us two similar nomograms drawn
in Indian ink on Whatmans paper, which had previously been
suitably mounted on stiff millboard, perhaps with a light
wooden frame to prevent "cockling".
