Another disadvantage of side change levers is that, in order to give reasonable room, the gear lever has to be kept as far back as possible, which in turn necessitates a large portion of the driving seat cushion being cut away on the off side. This removes the support to one leg and makes driving much less comfortable than it would be if the cushion were of its normal shape.

Personally I cannot think of any real advantages to-day for right hand xxxxx change.

Please do not trouble to reply in writing to this memo, but I should like you between now and my visit to Derby next week to give the matter careful consideration so that we may discuss it.
