HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary} x 3066 RS{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}1/M15.7.30. STANDARDISATION SHEETS. (1) P. 2. & 25HP. GOODRICH ENDLESS CANVAS RUBBER FAN BELT. (2) P. 2. HINGED PETROL FILLER CAP. Please find above 2 sheets herewith. Regarding the former R.{Sir Henry Royce} remarks "Belt is agreed to be "better than leather but I cannot agree to running it choc-a-bloc. "The belt tension must be governed and maintained by spring. Also "if necessary the spring can be made stiffer. We must be careful "not to pass from something which is good and lasting, though of "less efficiency, to something which requires more careful service". E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} remarks "From motor cycle experience we know that the "rubber belt is better under all conditions without doubt." RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary} | ||
