Regarding the former R.{Sir Henry Royce} remarks "Belt is agreed to be "better than leather but I cannot agree to running it choc-a-bloc. "The belt tension must be governed and maintained by spring. Also "if necessary the spring can be made stiffer. We must be careful "not to pass from something which is good and lasting, though of "less efficiency, to something which requires more careful service".

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} remarks "From motor cycle experience we know that the "rubber belt is better under all conditions without doubt."
