- 3 - (4) Our Instruction Book includes wheel and hub greasing at 5,000 miles. Surely an alteration of this mileage to 2,500 would be more effective. Summing up, a hub and lock ring similar in characteristics to the 8-litre No.80 hub, well greased and effectively tightened, should, if successful on a heavy car of this type, prove fully effective and free from clonk on a lighter car with a lower B.H.P. output, with the added advantage that if you consider that your trouble is due to the thin section of the outer taper of the lock ring, you can increase this thickness without adding appreciably to the weight of the whole car.
