X110 BTB- Mechanical Test Report. R.283. To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. HL2/AG.9.1.36. Laboratory. CAST IRON CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE. (your ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.6/JH.1.1.36.) Brinell Hardness Tests on Friction Face. H 10/3000 = 196 to 207 H 2/120 = 207 to 216 Tensile Tests (Tensometer M/c.) No. Position. Ult. Str. Tons/Sq.in. E% H 2/120. A Circumferential 14.8 1.3 209 B Circumferential 13.5 - 194 C Radial 13.5 1.5 203 D Radial 14.5 - 212 Note: Brinell tests quoted with the tensile tests were made on the ends of the test bars which were in planes at right angles to the friction surface. Test bars B and D were used for check bend tests which give ultimate tensile equivalents. The results do not "pair" as one would expect. This might be due to a mistake in stamping but we cannot obtain confirmation of this. It is understood however that all the figures which are quoted are satisfactory to you, and that there is no necessity to repeat the tests. Hl. He | ||
