X8420 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG20.6.29. MALCOLM CAMPBELLS PHANTOM. X8420 X4117 With reference to this car, the Phantom front braking was reduced owing to cases of taking charge, but now that we have axle torque control there is no further possibility of this happening. We suggest that for this fast car the original Phantom distribution should be reverted to as this is what was fitted to the Sports cars and to many hundreds of Phantoms. The alteration is : Front equaliser shaft - Present std. G.75413 4.00" long. Early std. G.73149 3.00" long. We suggest that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 73149 is fitted to Campbells car.
