1305 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.9/JH. 21st April, 1937. Mr. Gyer, The Inland Manufacturing Co., Dayton. Ohia. Dear Mr. Gyer, Mr. Robotham has asked me to enquire from you some further information concerning Inlox bushes. At the moment we cannot find anybody in England who is making this type of bush. Silentbloc Ltd., although they have tested the Inlox bush, cannot help us with regards to information of supplies. We should be very interested to know the exact difference between this type of bush and the Silent-bloc bush. Externally it appears that both bushes use rubber under compression and that the Inlox gains extra thrust capability by the rolled over ends of the out sleeve. At the moment we are particularly interested in Inlox bushes Nos.60444 and 302867 which are used on the 120 Packard, and should be grateful if you could let us have drawings and deflection curves of these bushes. If it is impossible to buy the bushes in England it would be interesting to know the patent position in case we considered producing Inlox bushes ourselves. It would be very helpful if you could let us have this information. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
