-2- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}8/JH.3.6.39. With the semi floating axle where no stiffening plate is fitted to the dust cover we have had complaints of rattles in the drums. The axle fitted with the stiffened dust covers is in London and to be on the safe side we suggest that the steadies are made of bent sheet metal secured to the carrier plate by bolts through the holes already drilledfor the oil drain. This applies to B.V. production. In any case whether the dust cover is stiffened or not it will amplify any rattles caused by the shoes. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B.
