SHOCK ABSORBERS.

In our last memo we recommended a Woodruff key and taper for the shaft of the shock absorbers.

On going over the question we cannot really see that there is any objection to the present splined taper though production asked for the former.

We quite appreciate the difficulty of making the lever and shaft in two pieces on the rear owing to the clearance necessity between the shock absorber and rear springs. However, the integral lever and shaft are undoubtedly difficult to manufacture.
