EAC.S. STEERING WITH LIGHTER FRONT AXLE

- X.7430.
X7420

Regarding the steering on EAC.S. this seemed to be vastly improved, probably due to the out of centre point steering, and the more constant lubrication of the vertical pins.

It was settled that should we require any increase in friction it should be done by spring loading all the four balls of the steering joints, rather than increase the complication of the thrust bearing on the steering pivots.

It will be noted elswhere that I have recommended the use of the 2000 lb. beffer spring in the longitudinal tube instead of the 3500 lb. spring at present standard. This will have the advantage of reducing the road shocks felt by the driver, and also will reduce the shocks to the steering mechanism.
