SHOCK DAMPER GOVERNOR UNITS.
Re. T/Hdy. {William Hardy} 2/HP.19.3.37.

We think Ph.III. should retain the governor unit filter and provision for a filter should be retained on 25/30, Bentley and Wraith.

From the "Quarterly Complaints" Hd. {Mr Hayward / Mr Huddy} 10/HR.10.2.37" there were 16 failures in the damper control system. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /GWR. is going to look into these complaints more carefully so that a decision can be made as to whether the filter should be introduced on all cars.

In view of the serious trouble due to dirt in the damper control unit in its early stages which is likely to return whenever new men assemble these units, the permanent deletion of the filter from the present information is likely to increase customers complaints.
