Phantom III Tyre Noise.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}13/E.8.4.36.

With reference to the life of the tyres the shoulders of which have been removed. Our source of information on the mileage of these tyres has been the Dunlop Rubber Co. For some years they have been progressively flattening their tread to increase resistance to wear; the silent tyre goes in exactly the opposite direction.

In spite of the fact that Dunlops do not recommend the tread, and with our limited knowledge of the subject we think that their attitude is reasonable, we propose to run it on 22-0-V and the Ph.III 15,000 miles tests to get a value for it.
