I am sending you herewith a blueprint of Ph.Sch. 1011 showing the proposed grouped instrument scheme in which the ammeter, thermometer, fuel and oil gauges are arranged in one circular group to the left of the switchbox in the patch and counterbalanced by the large diameter speedometer on the right of the switchbox. The clock is arranged centrally below the switchbox and various switches and lamps complete the remainder of the scheme. The general idea is to centralise in one instrument patch the whole of the equipment normally required. This blueprint does not show the absolute final scheme, for example, the instrument light switch we propose to have as a milled knob sticking down at the bottom of the facia board, similar to what is being fitted to your car at present in Derby, but we want some decision as to the policy to be followed. At the present time the coachbuilder fits a large number of switches for various purposes, and we have recently decided to add a petrol pump testing switch. The following list gives the number of extra fittings to the facia board now catered for:- (1) Petrol pump testing switch. (2) Windscreen wiper switch. (3) Centre lamp switch. (4) Map lamp switch. (5) Interior light switch (6) Reverse lamp switch (7) Reverse warning red lamp } if required. (8) Heater switch. (9) Heater warning lamp) if required. | ||
