Petrol System - 5-B-IV.

The above system complete for 10,000 miles test will weigh approx. 11 lbs. 10 ozs. less than present standard production.

The lightened tank complete with tank unit and suction pipe, etc., saves 8 lbs. 10 ozs.

This system incorporates the latest reserve warning device which eliminates the petrol tap, one pipe line from tank to the dashboard and a small pipe from tap to filter. This gives a saving of approx. 3 lbs.

The pump units are of the modified type incorporating non-inductively wound coils and with the new "direct-pull" armatures.

Mr. Kent of S.U. thinks that by lessening the air gap between the armature and pot we shall obtain even better results and he is carrying out experiments on these lines.
