Re: Carburetter type: 60 D.C.B.

Dear Sirs,

Confirming the writer's visit on September 3rd, together with your Mr. Fisher and our Mr. Aspley.

To keep the position clear, we would like to enumerate the various points which were discussed.

(1) Increasing the throttle barrel centres from 70 mm. to 100 mm.

(2) Decreasing the bore of the throttle barrels from 60 mm. to 54 mm.

It is understood that it is left with you whether you adopt either one or both of the points (to enable an accelerating pump to be used) and at the same time, accommodate a central throttle lever, which would also serve as the actuating lever on the pump.

(3) On one carburetter, the lever will operate with an overhead movement on the spindle, while on the other carburetter, the lever will move below the spindle, being situated between the throttle barrels.

(4) Assuming the material of the main casting to be aluminium for production, the bronze inserted spindle bushes to be protected against dust.

In conclusion, we have been considering the question of intermediate supplies of carburetters, prior to your having ready the first production samples. We have decided in order to eliminate complications, to wait for the final job before ordering
