X3603. c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/AD. September 28th, 1931. Messrs. Solex Ltd. 223-231 Marylebone Road, London, N.W.1. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 16th inst. We regret that we have not had very much success with your horizontal carburetter. Quite apart from the fact that it does not give satisfactory pick-up on the road with the largest choke available, we find that the depression is considerably higher than we obtain with the straight through carburetter of the expanding type such as the S.U. We therefore do not feel that it is worth while proceeding further with the model and are returning it to you under separate cover. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
